Nick is the Chairman of Spex Capital (subject to FCA approval).

From 2022 to 2024 he was a UK Health Minister responsible for all tech, innovation, AI and commercial activities in the National Health Service (NHS).

As Health Minister, Nick transformed the delivery of digital health care, developing the NHS App as a front door to the NHS which is used by 25% of adults in England every month. He also led the NHS adoption of AI & Medtech. Nick represented the UK on the World stage at the World Health Organisation, OECD Health Ministers convention and leading the Health Trade mission to Saudi Arabia.

Nick has extensive experience across the public, private and voluntary sectors. Previously he was Lead NED at Dept of Work & Pensions, Lead NED for Ministry of Housing and Deputy Leader of Westminster Council.

Nick transformed diagnostics testing during Covid as Co-Founder of Cignpost, going from €0 to €350m turnover in 1 year.

As Co-Founder of Cignpost, Nick helped transform Covid testing and enabled blue-chip clients such as Formula 1, Wimbledon Tennis, PGA Golf, BBC, Netflix & Apple team to operate during the pandemic. He also created a consumer business to millions of customers that was rated as Excellent on Trustpilot. Nick’s work at Cignpost led to his appointment as Health Minister with the remit of bringing these skills to the NHS.

Nick was previously ITV Strategy Director, where he developed the concept of Freeview with the BBC and was in charge of the Carlton and Granada merger. Previously he was CFO of Laura Ashley and CEO of Top Up TV which was the World’s first successful Digital Terrestrial pay TV company which he established on the back of venture capital.

He was also Chair of London & Continental Railways which specialises in regenerates railway spaces such as Kings Cross and Manchester Mayfield. Under Nick’s leadership, LCR majored on housing provisioning, making it equivalent to a UK top 10 housebuilder for which Nick was awarded a CBE for services to the economy & Government.

Nick holds a degree in Economics from The London School of Economics (LSE).
