Johann is an Entrepreneur by heart. He has formal training as a research chemist, a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and a master’s in Business innovation (focus on Law and Finance) from HSG in Switzerland. He funded his studies in Germany, Switzerland and the US through several merit-based scholarships. After graduating he gained experience in water purification and geothermal power yet went on to found a health-tech company that successfully patented one of the first digital health apps the market, raised several million in funding and was later sold to a Hong Kong-based genomics company.
Apart from many other accolades, he was named Swiss HSG Entrepreneur of the year 2013.
Johann is now an active angel investor and advises start-ups on strategy, non-dilutive funding and bid-writing for public contracts. Over the past 8 years, he helped many companies win government grants and bids with a focus on UK and European funding.
His main focus is on technology-related patentable innovations with strong research backing in the areas of health tech, robotics, AI, green tech, and manufacturing.
